What is Technology, Innovation, Education?

The Harvard Graduate School of Education Technology, Innovation, Education (TIE) master's program prepares students to contribute to the thoughtful design, implementation, and assessment of technology- enhanced educational innovations. Graduates of the program go on to careers in varied fields, including development of educational media, leadership of technological innovation in both formal and informal learning settings, evaluation of educational technologies and programs, policy development and analysis, teaching with new technologies, and research.

Through immersion in best practices, research, and theory, TIE enables students to appreciate diverse perspectives on technology, media, teaching, and learning; to investigate and design research-based pedagogical models; and to lead in the implementation and evaluation of technology-based innovations. The program is grounded on the conviction that technologies can be tools to improve and transform learning, and that the study of these tools should be embedded in analysis of the educational purposes they serve and the contexts in which they are applied.
