The site can be viewed as the second incarnation of our online preparedness methodologies, making it even easier for individuals to take responsibility for their safety in times of crisis. America's Emergency Network (AEN) will be the conduit that emergency managers and other government officials responsible for disaster response and recovery will use to get their messages to the media and/or directly to the public via the internet and, eventually, a dedicated television channel. With click-through rates rapidly declining following the dot-com bust, alternative methods of advertising were desperately needed. I had the idea of putting Flash advertisements over the screen, which I self-titled "Flash-Over Advertising." My tool for automating this process was adopted by Macromedia and is now a Behavior in their latest Flash application.

The Preston & Steve Morning Show, with whom I worked closely, is now the #1 FM morning show in the nation on WMMR. Mail Pals was my first major web project, founded in 1998. It quickly grew to one of the Internet's largest pen pal networks with over 80% of our members outside of the US. While it's just a distant memory at this point, it was the first of many online projects to come!
